Had the Plaice gratin with prawns I think, it was absolutely delicious, the most tender prawns I've ever had anywhere. Was a bit salty and asked for more potatoes and they gave us an extra, small bowl of potatoes at no extra cost! Also gave us hot water to drink as well! Service was friendly, we didn't have a reservation but they managed to find a seat for us (2 people) and closed the window when we said it was cold because of the breeze.

Ho mangiato la bistecca di balena , gustosissima ed accompagnata da una patata al burro buonissima e verdurine. Ho proseguito assaggiando il dolce della casa che era una cheese cake fatta con il loro famoso Skry. I prezzi ovviamente sono alti ma ne è valsa la pena. Ho mangiato divinamente. Servizio cordiale ed ambiente caldo. Ci tornerò volentieri.
Local food for locals. Specialist in seafood and traditional icelandic dishes. Thursdays lunch is for lamb chops. Excellent dish and just what Icelanders like. Restaurant steeped in history and has offered many special dishes. ????
Delicious traditional Icelandic food in a cosy space in a quiet neighbourhood…what’s not to like! While they might be famous for the more exotic meats (and the puffin was really good), the fish here is absolutely smashing as well. And I suggest saving some room for the skyr cheesecake for a sweet ending.
Habt keine Angst wegen der Öffnungszeit, ihr müsst nur vorher einen Tisch reservieren und könnt dort dann Speisen auch wenn ihr z.B. um 13:30 den Tisch habt und um 14Uhr das Restaurant schließt. Bedeutet nur das keine anderen Gäste rein dürfen.
Habe das einzig vegetarisch Gericht gehabt und es war wirklich sehr lecker. Umgerechnet ungefähr 20Euro - Wasser ist immer umsonst und kann man auch noch mehr nehmen wenn man möchte.
Super Restaurant wenn man auf die außergewöhnliche Speisekarte steht.
The whale steak.... puffin etc. Everything amazing!!!! Great restaurant...we had no reservations but they got us in....2 of us had Einstok beer with dinner. When I visit Iceland again. I will eat here again .
The quality alone makes this place stand out as one of the best restaurants in all of Reykjavik. I come here every time I am in Iceland. The lunch prices are great but even the dinner prices are worth it for the quality that is served.
3 Frakkar ( Three coats ) is just a great restaurante. Food top quality - Service great . What more to say but out of rating 1-10 they get 15. Deff coming back .

We had been recommended to come here by a Waitress in restaurant in Eglisstaoir - we weren't disappointed. The food, service & friendliness was great. If you are looking to also try something different (Puffin, Horse Steak, Whale Meat, Guillimote) this is the place and the Chef is very good. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
Waren zum dritten Mal dort, immer wieder hervorragend in jeder Beziehung. Extravagante Karte. Hatten geräucherte Puffinbrust als Starter, dann Walsteak bzw. Pferd. Klasse, superfreundliche Bedienung.
I was enjoying my delicious lunch at this wonderful establishment when I met my long lost imaginary friend. Me and wetgarnkle haven’t seen each other in years but whilst trying the whale sashimi I saw him across the room, standing proudly on the serving counter. immediately I was filled with ecstasy just staring into his deep black eye sockets. my wife was somewhat alarmed when I lept into his outstretched flippers and we tenderly embraced.
Wetgarnkle and I are now celebrating our fifth year in Bedlam psychiatric hospital.

Je n'ai pas osé manger de la baleine mais les cotelettes d'agneau étaient délicieuses et le personnel fort sympatique. J'ai également pu gouter une bière islandaise dont le nom m'échappe qui était délicieuse! bref une bonne adresse pour manger à Reykjavik
Un resto atypique et surprenant. Dans un décor tout ce qu'il y a de plus "classique" une cuisine qui l'est beaucoup moins, avec des plats que l'on ne retrouve pas partout , loin de là.
En entrée, il faut absolument goûter le carpaccio de baleine : c'est une belle expérience gustative : texture de filet de boeuf, goût de gibier.. incroyable.
Je sais, ce n'est pas bien de manger ces pauvres bêtes mais bon, une fois dans sa vie ...
