The largest square in Vicenza, the historic heart of the city.

Piazza dei Signori is the beating heart of Vicenza. Located on the site of the ancient Roman forum, it was for a long time the market square. All the political symbols stand here: the bell tower, or Torre Bissarra, 82 meters high; the two columns bearing the lion of St. Mark; the Loggia del Capitanio, the former seat of the city council, the work of Palladio; the Monte dei Pietà and finally the gigantic Basilica Palladiana. Today it is the "living room" of the city where it is pleasant to come and capture the local atmosphere.

Place très agréable entourée de monuments superbes. Dommage que la terrasse de la Basilica Palladiana ne soit pas accessible en hiver, ne fut-ce que pour la vue.
Il y a régulièrement un spectacle son et lumière sur Palladio qui explique la construction de la Basilica et montre les innovations de l'architecte.
