REDOUBT (REDUTA)

This beautiful building was built between 1900 and 1905 in an Art Nouveau style that is reminiscent of the public buildings in Vienna or Budapest built at the same time. Designed by the architect Kálmán Gerster, it has four towers and its roof is dominated by a swan. This building houses the Spiš theatre, which can accommodate 255 spectators for shows and concerts. There is also a restaurant and café (kaviareň Sonáta), the municipal cultural centre and the local television station Reduta.
