BOTANICAL GARDEN (BOTANICKÁ ZÁHRADA)

This botanical garden is part of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. Built at the foot of the hills to the north of the city on an area of 30 ha, it is the largest botanical garden in Slovakia. Since its opening in 1950, the garden has followed the rhythm of the seasons: snow in winter, rebirth in spring, fruit and flowers in summer and transition in autumn. There is a section of medicinal plants, ornamental plants and greenhouses.
