This museum of medieval weapons which depends on the eastern Slovak museum is beautifully located in the beautiful restored house of François II Rákóczi. This noble Hungarian, who became a prince of Transylvania in 1704, led a rebellion against the Habsburg people between 1707 and 1711. Forced to exile in the Ottoman Empire, he continued to conspire against Vienna until his death. In 1906, his body, buried in Turkey, was repatriated to be buried in the St. Elisabeth Cathedral of Košice.
