VAŽEC CAVE (VAŽECKÁ JASKYŇA)

On the outskirts of the village of Važec, between Liptovský Mikuláš and Poprad, lies one of the most famous caves in northern Slovakia, the Važecká Cave. Easily accessible from the village of Važec, it is one of the smallest caves in Slovakia with only 230 meters open to the public, but it is still impressive, with its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites as well as fossils of bear bones found on site. The visit lasts about 25 minutes.
