LAC DE LIPTOVSKÝ MIKULÁŠ (LIPTOVSKÁ MARA)

Very popular in summer, the Liptovská Mara (Liptov Sea) is a large man-made lake and one of the few swimming options for Slovaks who live in one of the European countries farthest from the coast. It is also possible to take a boat tour from July ¹ to August 31, departing at 10am, noon, 2pm and 4pm from the port of Liptovský Trnovec, accessible by bus directly from Liptovský Mikuláš. There is a hiking and mountain bike path that goes around the lake.
