This building, built in the 13th century, now has a Renaissance look following the modifications made in the 16th century. The four-storey high Romanesque keep is the oldest part of the castle. It houses a museum in which an astonishing series of metal and wire figures made by tinsmiths who lived in the region are displayed. In the castle park, there is an educational walk on the theme of the surrounding nature.

Budatin n'est pas le plus beau château de Slovaquie, mais il vaut la peine de s'y arrêter si vous passez par Zilina. Il contient toute l'histoire de la ville dans un musée bien rempli, il est l'endroit principal pour connaitre les origines et la culture des peuples ayant vécu à Zilina jusqu'à aujourd'hui. On peut faire la visite en anglais. Se promener dans le parc au milieu des arbres centenaires complètera votre visite à merveille. A faire peu importe la saison.
