OPÉRA D'ÉTAT (ŠTATNA OPERA)

This state opera house presents two to three operas per week, except during the summer months. They are usually sung in Slovak, or in the original language with Slovak subtitles above the stage. If you've never been to the opera, this is your chance because it's good and cheap. Before you go, read the synopsis on the Internet to understand the action. At intermission, treat yourself to a glass of wine or Slovakian sparkling wine (very cheap) to get your strength back.
