PLACE OF THE HOLY TRINITY (NÁM. SV. TROJICE)

It was built in the 16th century and forms the centre of the town. It is surrounded by splendid bourgeois houses that belonged to the rich Hungarian and German mine owners of the time. In the centre of the square, the Baroque-style Great Plague Column was built in the early 18th century in memory of the victims of the Great Plague of 1710-1711. Large markets for agricultural products and crafts were held here at the time.
