OLD CASTLE (STARÝ ZÁMOK)

The old castle was built on the basis of a Romanesque church from the early 13th century. In the middle of the 15th century, the church was ravaged by a fire and an earthquake. A Gothic church was built on its ruins between 1497 and 1516, then fortified and gradually transformed into a fort to cope with Ottoman invasions in the second half of the 16th century. This building, which has not been overly restored, exudes a real charm.
