CHIESA DI SANTA MARIA DEL PARTO

Made at the request of Jacopo Sannazzaro, poet and humanist, the church houses its funeral monument dating back to 1530 and decorated with sculptures and bas-reliefs. Sacred and pagan objects blend into the heart of this Renaissance church. The composition of Abraham and angels alongside Venus, Mercury, astrology and the Trivium arts (philosophy, grammar and rhetoric) is a perfect example.
