This curious fountain is located in the vaulted basement of the church of San Lorenzo. Composed of two large water basins, the current structure dates back to the th century. At that time, following the construction of the City walls by the Venetians, the church of San Lorenzo is moved and placed inside the fortifications, just over a pre-existing tank. The fountain provided water to the population bergamo until the end of the th century for different everyday uses. It will serve as a public wash until 1950.
