One of the most accomplished architectural expressions of the Lombard Renaissance.
One of the most accomplished architectural expressions of the Lombard Renaissance. Last residence of the Venetian condottiere Bartolomeo Colleoni, built in 1472 by the architect of the Carthusian monastery of Pavia, Antonio Amedeo. The facade crowned by a dome is covered with polychrome marble. Inside, the monumental tomb has Gothic motifs with a Renaissance sensibility. Beautiful frescoes depicting the life of St. John the Baptist, by G. B. Tiepolo (1733), adorn the dome. On the left, the tomb of the daughter of the condottiere, Medea Colleoni.

magnifique

Just seeing the facade of the Chapel is already an objective in itself so beautiful. Attention, forbidden photos because private property. Many sites mention a pass to visit all the monuments of the high city. It no longer seems to exist since the only buildings I have paid for are the civic tower and its museum holding (5 € in whole).
