Rakovník is a charming town a few dozen kilometers west of Prague. Its history dates back to 1252, and it's packed with historic buildings that bear witness to its past. A stroll through the town will take you to such historically important sites as the Prague Gate, the T.G. Masaryk Museum, St. Bartholomew's Church, the Synagogue and Samson House. The town also boasts a peaceful park, a recently renovated theater and a botanical garden. A walk through the historic center of Rakovník takes around 2 hours and covers a distance of around 3 km. For art lovers, the Rabas Gallery presents interesting exhibitions.
