LAING ART GALLERY

This very beautiful gallery exhibits many sumptuous works by local and regional artists. It features 18th and 19th century paintings and watercolours, as well as decorative arts and sculptures by Henry Moore. Purists will like to find a Gauguin and some Turners. More surprisingly, one piece is devoted to an impressive sound and light show about what Mars could be like in 200 years, after the failure of a hypothetical colonization. The panorama is poignant.
