This Italian-style villa was the vacation home of Queen Victoria and her entourage. Having come here to escape the duties of her rank, it was a place where she loved to recharge her batteries and enjoy herself far from prying eyes. It was also here that Her Majesty ended her life, in 1901. Portraits or landscapes, little cookies or sculpted busts, everything here plunges into the intimacy of its illustrious occupants. In fact, the staging gives the impression that the monarch has just left the premises for a stroll. The gardens are equally sublime.

maison exceptionnelle de la reine Victoria, qui est d'ailleurs plutôt un petit chateau ! l'intérieur est encore intégralement meublé, même les appartements des enfants et de la nurse ! bref, une très belle visite, et dommage que nous n'ayons pas eu assez de temps pour visiter la petite maison de jeu des enfants qui se trouve au fond du parc
