The Duke Of La Warr was mayor of Bexhill from 1932 to 1934 and wanted to build a «palace for the people». He charged Erich Mendelsohn, a German architect, to achieve it. In fact, this museum-bar-café-theatre is a modern building with original and aesthetic curves. It hosts major contemporary exhibitions, whose reputation is international. An artistic UFO in the conservative small town of Bexhill-on-Sea.
