A real enchantment that leads to a dream panorama on the tepuys via the Salto Sapo. After crossing the lagoon of Canaïma, you reach Isla, where a forest walk of about 15 minutes allows you to discover procedurally, orchids and other mosses, until the majestic Salto Sapo. You can go behind the cataract in an indescribable thunder— in the rainy season, it's really fabulous. For the little story, the path behind the fall is the work of the late Tomás Bernal, who mapped the route (for two summers) using an iron bar. He lived years by a hermit in a small cave behind the fall, before working in the tourist sector and then dying in a mysterious way, giving rise to many stories. Finally, on the other side, you can bathe in the water of the fall (in dry season) whose beach has nothing to envy those of the Caribbean… If for some reason this salto is not included in your turn, you will spend at least 50 € extra to visit it.
