Welcome to a park of 3 million hectares of forests, rivers and tepuys. Canaïma is the number one tourist attraction in Venezuela, because this is where the visit of the world's highest waterfall, the Salto Angel, is organised. The village of Canaïma, inhabited by Pémons Indians who live more in tourism than agriculture - the cell by hand attests it - is not quite attractive, if it is the fantastic lagoon where seven waterfalls are thrown, including the Salto Ground. Experienced fans will recognize the decor of an Indian film in the city and the Jaguar (the whole village was then requisitioned to play Indians). Because of land, there are no crops in the village. Vegetable gardens are located on the other side, below a tepuy. As for aquatic fauna, it is not Byzantium apart from the Aimara that can weigh up to 12 kg. In the absence of a bank (carry enough bolívars), there are many possibilities for lodging and souvenir sellers, who are very successful with Indian crafts. If you can, avoid the high season (carnival, Holy Week, Summer and Extended Weekends) and plan 35 Bs F for entry to the national park, payable upon departure from the aircraft.
