The city was founded by the 3 Uzcátegui brothers only in 1826. These forests you see around you (when not coffee fields) make Azulita the green lung of the region. By taking the direction of Santa Elena de Arenales, you can see the waterfalls, but also the Pirate's cave (cueva del Pirata), in a wonderful environment (despite a little summary), where the buccaneers Henry Morgan and Walter Raleigh have buried their treasures.
