From the top of the cable car, 4 x 4 go down to the village of Galipán. The first inhabitants (th century) came from the Canary Islands to cultivate coffee and fruit. Tradition is maintained, but today it is the strawberries, the blackberries and the flowers that have replaced them. As with Castillos on the Orinoco River, there are also huge eucalyptus fields. It is one of the Sunday exits of the Caraqueños, also famous for its very good restaurants (in San Bernardino, behind the barrio Cotiza, before the port of La Boyacá). This changes the atmosphere of the great city and, when the sky is cleared, the view on the capital is remarkable. The late arrival of flights from Europe encourages travellers to spend a night on Caracas. If you are allergic to the cities, Galipán can be a fresh, practical and pleasant alternative (distant view of the sea). In this case, plan to reserve the transfer from the airport with one of the posadas mentioned below or through your responsive agency.
