TEMPLE HANSHA
A small temple with a very pretty garden featuring beautiful vegetation, including majestic banyan trees
In the Dai village of Jiedong, less than 10 km from Ruili, the Hansha temple (and village) are well worth a visit. Built at the end of the Qing dynasty, it features traditional wooden architecture, gilded stacked roofs and ornaments typical of Dai culture, as well as a huge statue of Sakyamuni. It is still inhabited by a few saffron-robed monks. The garden around the temple is very pretty, with lovely vegetation including majestic banyan trees. Peaceful all year round, festive during the Dai New Year.
