TEMPLE FEILAI

There's nothing exceptional about this temple in itself, but the panorama in which it stands, and the path to get there, are impressive. Perched at an altitude of 3,300 metres, some ten kilometers from Deqin, it is one of the best vantage points on Mount Meili. This small Tibetan monastery, founded over 300 years ago, is famous for its esplanade, where devotees and travellers come to admire the sunrise over the sacred Kawagebo peak. The temple, surrounded by prayer wheels and colorful flags, exudes a highly spiritual atmosphere.
