It is difficult to escape from the crowd, but the cries of the passers-by involved with the harangue of the merchants and the birds' strands give the market a very special atmosphere. This is one of Kunming's most pleasant walks. Several streets with the last old wooden houses in the city delineate this increasingly varied market, where there are not only flowers and birds but also antiques (or so called), toys and objects of all kinds. It is not uncommon to cross women in traditional dress, which is becoming less and less common in the rest of the city.
