Dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907), this 35,5 m high pagoda is at the bottom of a narrow impasse. Old sitting Chinese sit on mah-jong, drink tea, sing or converse in a small enclosed garden. The impasse in the pagoda is on a very busy street, flooded with a permanent flea market.

La pagode de l'est et la pagode de l'ouest ont été construites sous la dynastie des Tang. Tombées en ruine, elles ont été reconstruites à l'identique. Les pagodes sont face à face. Pour aller de l'une à l'autre, on traverse un quartier entièrement rénové.

Même remarque pour la pagode de l'est. Elles se font face. Quartier vivant. Elles étaient en travaux mais malgré cela valent le détour pour l'architecture.
