GREEN DRAGON CAVE
Stroll through a succession of pavilions and hanging temples set in natural caves
This vast troglodytic complex, also known as Qinglong Dong, was founded during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and extends over several square kilometers, overlooking the Wuyang River. Winding staircases lead up to a succession of pavilions and hanging temples, built into the cliffs and set in natural grottoes. A sanctuary at the crossroads of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, the site also offers spectacular panoramic views over the valley. A must-see when visiting Zhenyuan.
