MÉTRO D'ALMATY

Inaugurated in 2011, the Almaty metro, the second largest in Central Asia after Tashkent, currently serves 9 stations on the 8,5 km of built lines. The final line should extend over 45 km. Two other lines are under consideration. For the visitor, the metro is not of interest except to reach the city centre from the Almaty II train station.
