A resolutely modern museum that presents new design and architecture every year. Since November 2016, the museum has moved to the Kensington side of the Museums Quarter. In the abundant permanent exhibition entitled"Designer, Maker, User", you can discover models, plans and videos that attest to the ingenuity of today's designers and the spectacular evolution of forms and materials. Over 1,000 pieces are on display. We really like the various screens in this exhibition, which allow the youngest visitors (and not only) to try their hand at the art of design and understand what's at stake. The section on London transport is also particularly successful. Or the showcase on the evolution of our computers, from the first MacBook to the present day. And last but not least, our favorite is the amusing wall covered with objects characteristic of our time, at the entrance to the permanent exhibition: the Tube panels, the famous blue Ikea bag, our Stan Smiths... Have fun recognizing these everyday objects. Exhibitions also showcase the work of young designers taking part in the Designer of the Year competition. Temporary exhibitions are always cutting-edge and original. And the themes are varied: fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa, houses of the future, Stanley Kubrick, Ferrari, life on Mars... And don't miss a detour to the museum boutique, packed with cool design objects.
