The best night out in Brixton. No question.

Absolutely the loveliest and cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. From the building, the art, the vibe, the people. Incredible. I was very unsure after reading some bad (and quite frankly unfair) reviews before my stay but if you stay anywhere in Brixton make it this place. There are small lockers for valuables located inside the corridors but we had a 6 bed all female dorm and it was absolutely fine. Lovely fellow female travellers, and fresh clean bedding. Comfortable mattresses and clean towels provided. The whole place is CLEAN. All these reviews saying the hostel is dirty are not true. It's the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. Anyone who thinks Hootananny is dirty has clearly never set foot in an old building before. Large communal area with a balcony overlooking the bar area. The bar itself it's beautiful, really funky artwork, and lovely atmosphere. Communal kitchen with bread and cereal provided for breakfast, and tea and coffee available to make 24/7. Met some lovely people staying and chatted around the kitchen table after our night out, and in the morning. Felt safe, warm and comfortable throughout my stay. Would happily stay for a week at a time. We'll be back for sure, thanks guys!

I been twice to this venue, in the summer it was so good as it has an outdoor area so is very chilled and good summer vibes but I also have been to an event in winter and the outdoor area is still great and the overall vibe has always been great. Inside is good as near the stage area is where all the people crowd around and the room is elongated so you get a good view of the stage everytime however is really cool that if you want to get away from the crowd but still kind of be inside the venue and listening to the music then you can go to the far back where they have like a chill area to sit down, play pool and chat. The only bad thing is that one of the toilets is so difficult to get to as is right next to the stage so if there is an event there will always be a big crowd to get through. Luckily there is a second toilet at the very back which is good.

A mí no me gustó.

Cool place to chill and drink your beer. Also one of the very few places I saw in London which had a lot of outdoor space for smokers.

Always a great night with good music. Danced until 3am. Love this place

Sticky yet wet and slippery floors, uneven too so saw loads of people trip up. Whoever set up the lights at the stage DIRECTED to the audience area is the devil, they are so blinding and could trigger a seizure. Made the experience less enjoyable because you couldn't even see who was playing because the lights were so bright and flashing. Toilets grimey but staff nice.

Hoots has a special place in my heart. Always great music and a gig worth going to. Great for a beer in the sun during the day or a lively night out. A must visit for anyone in south London.

A lively fun spot that provides a festival-like night out in London all year around! I always find myself coming back here, the music is always great, the pub is cosy in winter and the beer garden perfect for summer. One of the only places you can come to see live bands on late rather than DJs!

Great venue, with a varied and wonderful music policy. Having been a couple times of in the last few months, I couldn't recommend it anymore. The reggae events are always great, and the food outside is great.

Everything about this place is brilliant, the vibe, the community, the staff, it's just full of life! The music is spot on, loads of stuff for proper music lovers and just casual listeners. Good drinks selection and decent food, everything you need for a night

Great venue, and great music. The three performers on Saturday for Dynamite Disco were the best act I’ve seen this year. Dancing from start to finish - couldn’t recommend as a spot anymore. They have a great programme coming up also, so should be attending more!

Absolutely love this place. One of my favourite nights out in London by far. Live music is always great and such a rarity these days! Would really recommend for either a night out or a more chilled day at the pub.

The disco was pretty good at 27/01/24 (Ratpack party) but I miss some apache, funky drummer and Think (Lyn Collins tune) rhythm.

Nevertheless the party hard!!

Will come back

Good music venue, lovely high stage. However, another venue that considers it's a good idea to shine spotlights into the crowd. One of us is epileptic so we have to hide round a corner. It's as if health and safety is not considered for anyone with epilepsy or suffers from migraines. No visible warning at the venue, on the website or when buying tickets.
