Located in Hammersmith along the River Thames, The Dove is much more than just another London pub. With its roots in the 17th century, it has witnessed a multitude of historical and/or anecdotal events. Charles II is said to have spent many a cosy night here with his ravishing mistress, Nell Gwynne. The walls are home to poems written here by James Thomson (1700-1748), as well as the hustle and bustle of English capital life. An inevitably delightful interlude, The Dove, with its preserved old-world charm, harbors a part of London's eternal soul.
