CANTAMAGGIO

It is the festival of popular song that celebrates, a month late, the return of spring. The festival lasts for two weeks, until mid-May. The Maggiaioli, young men who carried the "maggio", a branch with yellow flowers and a lantern hanging at the end, passed in front of the house singing stornelli and received in exchange eggs, bread or money.
