Church erected on the remains of a temple dedicated to Juno and Vesta.
Probably erected on the remains of a temple dedicated to Juno and Vesta, this 11th and 12th century church, enlarged in the 17th century, is decorated with a beautiful rose window on its 1644 façade. Inside, on the left transept, in the Baglioni Chapel, do not miss the superb frescoes by Bernardino di Betto, known as the Pinturicchio, dating back to the early 16th century and inspired by scenes from the New Testament. Around the high altar there are also frescoes by Perugino.

petite église à Spello, que nous avons visité sur la route pour Assise. L'église est de style mlédievale mais c'est surtout l'Annunciazione de Pinturicchio, fresque mural, qu'il faut voir à l'intérieur, car vraiment remarquable. il faut mettre une petite pièce dans une machine pour allumer la lumière, mais cela en vaut la peine! A faire si on est dans les environs d'Assise. En plus Spello est une jolie bourgade et très peu touristique!
