MUSEO CASA ROSSA XIMENES
Go there and contact

Casa Rossa was built by the Jesuit engineer Leonardo Ximenes, whose objective was to clean up the Castiglione marshes.
The opportunity given here is to understand how man has fought against the swamps. The visit begins with a ten-minute film on the history of the area. Built in 1768 by the Jesuit engineer Leonardo Ximenes, the Casa Rossa was intended to clean up the Castiglione della Pescaia marshes, separating fresh and salt water to prevent the spread of malaria and guarantee fishing activities. We liked the bird-watching terrace, with binoculars on loan.
