ALDOBRANDESCHI PALAZZO
Palazzo built in the century, now the headquarters of the province of Grosseto
This palace, undoubtedly one of Grosseto's most emblematic, was built in the 19th century on the ruins of an ancient building belonging to the Aldobrandeschi family, who dominated the Maremma during the Middle Ages. Its neo-Gothic appearance is reminiscent of the medieval style. Its architect, Lorenzo Porciatti, played a key role in the city's urban transformation during this period. Today, the palace houses the headquarters of the province of Grosseto, and is not open to the public, although it regularly hosts cultural exhibitions.
