FESTIVAL ELBA ISOLA MUSICALE D'EUROPA

Created in 1997 by George Edelman (artistic director of Ferrara Musica) and Yuri Bashmet (great Russian violist), the Elba Isola Musicale d'Europa festival is an important event combining classical music and jazz. Every year, for one week in September, it attracts famous international artists. Most of the concerts take place at the Teatro dei Vigilanti in Portoferraio, but also at the Duomo de Rio nell'Elba, the Madonna del Monte Sanctuary and the Biodola beach.
