Old Benedictine Hospitalis of the 6th century offering well appointed rooms
Giancarlo and Nicolette, perfectly French-speaking, welcome you to this former Benedictine hospital of the 6th century. The Hospitalis was a refuge for pilgrims on their way to Rome. The rooms are well furnished and celebrate Tuscany. The most attractive element remains silence! A silence so invasive that it surprises. The same goes for Giancarlo's cuisine, which creatively prepares the products of his vegetable garden and puts "small dishes in the big ones"!

Famiglia Abbondandolo
Abbiamo pranzato in una vera e propria terrazza sulla Val D'Orcia, stupenda la location.
Il menù era fisso (può variare giornalmente) e prevedeva un antipasto con salumi e formaggi tipici della zona, un primo in questo caso fusilloni cacio e pepe o all' aglione, dolce creme brulèe, acqua e caffè. Il locale non aveva vino rosso alla mescita ma solo bottiglie da 75cl. Nel nostro caso, c'è stato un problema sul mio primo che non era diciamo al top ma è stato prontamente rifatto. Totale conto €87 per 2 antipasti, 2 primi (uno rifatto ), 2 dolci che non abbiamo consumato perché non di nostro gradimento e la bottiglia di vino acquistata come extra (€27). Quello che ci ha lasciati un po' delusi è stato sicuramente il prezzo di ciò che abbiamo mangiato e il sorvolare in merito "all'incidente" con il primo. Purtroppo ormai da queste parti è così e si finisce per pagare, molto spesso, più l'aura di esclusività della zona che il resto.
