15th century Renaissance palace designed by Bernardo Gambarelli, trusted architect of Pope Pius II in Siena.
This 15th century Renaissance palace, designed by Bernardo Gambarelli, trusted architect of Pope Pius II, has a mature Florentine style. It houses the city's archives and the Biccherna tablet museum. Among the works on display is the collection of biccherne, small wooden paintings by great Sienese artists from the 13th to 17th centuries, which were originally used as a cover for the tax register. Do not forget the panoramic terrace, beautiful view of Piazza del Campo.
