On a hill overlooking Gaiole in Chianti, the Osteria Il Papavero ("The Poppy") animates the square of the small village of Barbischio, an important market in the region until the 12th century, located two kilometres east of Gaiole. This beautiful stone house offers the opportunity to experience the friendly atmosphere of an old Tuscan tavern, with its country style, wooden tables, exposed beams and old fireplace. Tradition is found on the plate, with mastery and generosity. Good, simple, true, fresh.
