The monument erected in 1875 in memory of Daniele Manin, hero of the Italian Risorgimento located on the campo in Venice
The monument on theCampo was erected in 1875 in memory of Daniele Manin, hero of the Italian Risorgimento, who chased the Austrians out of Venice and ruled the city until 1848. Closing the square to the north, it is also difficult not to notice one of the few examples of modern Venetian architecture, namely the building of the Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia (the local savings bank), by Pier Luigi Nervi (1891-1979). Built in 1972, it represents a real stylistic break with the rest of the historical residences in the square, according to experts.

Very nice little place, unfortunately disfigured by the building of the savings fund.
