Renaissance style church with a and by Titian.

The church is in Renaissance style and houses a Transfiguration (high altar) and an Ascension (3rd altar on the right) by Titian. The remarkable tomb of the doge Francesco Vernier, signed by Jacopo Sansovino, and the funerary monument dedicated to Catherine Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus, are also to be seen. The sovereign is represented on a splendid bas-relief carved offering Cyprus to Venice. If you are here on August 15, you can also see on the high altar a magnificent silver altarpiece covered with gilding from the 14th century, which is only visible during the great feasts.
