Located 50 m from St. Mark's Square, just behind the Palazzo Ducale. The Carrain family, which has managed it since 1924, has seen in its rooms many famous painters such as Matisse, Braque, Picasso… Exhibition in the rooms of the restaurant attached to the painting hotel of known artists. The palace in which the hotel is housed is also a piece of art. Dating back to the th century, it is decorated with stucco and exposed beams. Clients have several benefits: Private taxi, discounts to the restaurant attached to the hotel, the Trattoria La Canonica, and the HK restaurant.

We arrived and departed by water taxi. The staff was attentive. One of our traveling party was disabled and the hotel staff were helpful. The rooms were updated but had old European form factor. The bar was excellent and had a great view of the canal. The breakfast was the best that we had in Italy. The Hotel is located near shops and restaurants and is an easy walk to San Marco Square.

Beautiful hotel, the room was clean and nice. The service desk person was so really nice and welcoming. Offered to store our luggage if needed. The breakfast area was so small and crowded. There wasn't much of a variety of food. It was such a small area, and very hard to navigate when there were others eating as well. Overall a good stay but I would not do the breakfast.

Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very central location. There's even an umbrella for use in the wardrobe which I thought was a lovely touch. Fabulous cocktails and a lovely breakfast. Would 100% recommend.
