The beautiful baroque church between the Santa Lucia train station and the Ponte degli Scalzi is often overlooked by passers-by. It is however remarkable, not only for its architecture, but also for the beautiful store it houses. Indeed, the Carmelite order produces and sells here innumerable herbal remedies, for which it has had the recipes for several decades. Syrups, candies and soaps are also on sale, all made with essential oils. The miraculous lemon balm water is said to have soothing properties.
