Masterpiece of the Lombard Renaissance, built in 1396 in Como.

The cathedral is a masterpiece of the Lombard Renaissance. Its construction began in 1396 and was completed in the first half of the 18th century. Its remarkable facade (1484), work of the Rodari brothers, especially the northern portal called "della rana" because of the frog (the rana) represented on a pilaster, is a wonderful expression of Renaissance virtuosism. Inside you can admire paintings by Luini and Gaudenzio Ferrari as well as nine sixteenth-century Flemish tapestries and a superb five-body organ.

Toujours aussi beau ce style d'édifice religieux en Lombardie, façade grandiose et surtout quand c'est ensoleillé du plus bel effet, sinon son intérieur est richement décoré ave ses chapelles, voutes et plafonds ornés.

Le Duomo de la ville de Como est un incontournable, reservez-vous au moins une heure pour en admirer l'exterieur et l'intérieur, c'est l'une de plus belle cathédrale de la région des lacs italiens!

BEl édifice. Malheureusement je n’ai pas pu y rentrer mais la façade extérieure, sa simplicité et sa sobriété donnent envie de voir à quoi elle ressemble à l´interieur.
