Founded in 1974, this institution (Кинотека на Северна Македонија/Kinoteka na Severna Makedonija) preserves the first films shot in the Balkans by the Manaki brothers (see Bitola). Thematic programming every month, with week-long screenings of films from a particular country. A welcome change from English-language blockbusters. But films by Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray or Wim Wenders are subtitled in Macedonian. 120-seat auditorium and small museum.
