PINACOTECA CARLO LEVI
Gallery exhibiting 22 works signed by the artist Carlo Levi.
Writer and politician Carlo Levi began painting landscapes and portraits as a child: his first participation in a group exhibition dates back to 1923, when he was 21. Throughout his life, he was a committed intellectual, in the sense that his friend Jean-Paul Sartre gave to the word. The Pinacoteca permanently exhibits 22 works signed by the artist in the rooms of the Palazzo Morteo in the heart of the old town: all these paintings, with the exception of the self-portrait, were painted in Alassio between 1929 and 1974.
