At the entrance to the caruggio, with a pretty veranda overlooking the sea, this quality restaurant offers a good choice of fish dishes as well as regional specialties: capon maigre, fresh pasta with pesto, clam pasta, fish from local fishermen and, in season, the famous Albenga artichokes. Excellent Italian wine list, as well as a good selection of French wines, the owner's favorite. Evenings are organized all year round, accompanied by the finest champagnes from Louis Roederer, Laurent-Perrier and Ruinart.

Tre settimane fa noi, due donne tedesche, abbiamo cenato al Sail Inn nella veranda. Per prima cosa ci è stato gentilmente chiesto cosa volevamo. Dato che parlo bene l'italiano, l'ordine (2 menu) è andato liscio. Poi è arrivato il cameriere ausiliario e ha gettato sul tavolo l'acqua e la caraffa del vino senza versare nulla. Ci parlava costantemente un pessimo inglese senza sapere da quale paese venivamo. Ho risposto in italiano, cosa che non gli interessava. Ha poi anche portato tutti i piatti in rapida successione senza chiedere tra una portata e l'altra se volevamo aspettare un po'. Quando ha portato il caffè, ha messo contemporaneamente il conto sul tavolo senza che glielo chiedessero! Entrambi avevamo ancora del vino nei bicchieri e non volevamo andarcene affatto. Sono ad Alassio ogni anno. Sicuramente non visiterò più questo ristorante!
