Lake Kaltern, the largest lake in South Tyrol, is a great place for water sports enthusiasts.

The largest lake in South Tyrol is also the warmest due to its shallow depth of no more than 4 metres. Its surroundings are a refuge for migratory birds and are ideal for walking. The lake is popular with water sports enthusiasts, and fishermen will be happy to go fishing after a detour to the tourist office for a daily permit. For those who like to relax by the water or on the terrace with a glass of Caldaro wine, the place is perfect. However, it is very busy when the weather is fine.
