CAFFÈ STELLA POLARE

This is one of the historic cafes of Trieste. It opened in 1865 and was a favorite meeting place for German merchants who came to do business in Trieste. Many artists and intellectuals from Trieste and abroad also frequented it. Although the café has lost its stucco moldings and large mirrors, it is still possible to appreciate the quality of the coffee and the terrace overlooking Piazza Sant'Antonio Nuovo, near the Canal Grande. The place is also very pleasant ataperitivo time, for a spritz with appetizers.
