Beqa, located 8 km off Pacific Harbour and with a circumference of 7 km, was previously isolated, but is now becoming increasingly popular with tourists. Descended from the Sawau tribe, the islanders of Beqa (pronounced "Benga") are said to possess the extraordinary gift of being "heat resistant". Everywhere in Fiji, they showcase their ability to walk barefoot over still-burning embers. Finally, the Beqa lagoon is renowned for many reasons: the color of the water is breathtaking, and the dive sites are among the most spectacular in Fiji, especially for shark watching and feeding (7 different species here).
